    (SABB) and (Green Horizons) contribute to the Saudi Green Initiative

    Saudi British Bank (SABB) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Green Horizons Environmental Association in cooperation and contribution to achieving the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative, focused on protecting the environment, and developing and promoting environmental awareness.

    Mr. Tony CRIPPS, Managing Director of SABB, and Dr. Maha Al-Dubaihi, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Horizons Environmental Association, signed the Memorandum on Tuesday October 19, 2021G at the Head Office of SABB in Riyadh. Executives from both sides attended the signing ceremony.

    The Memorandum aimed at strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two parties to build a partnership that contributes to initiatives that combat desertification, develop natural vegetation cover, and raise community awareness about the importance of plantation as a natural wealth in the Kingdom that must be preserved, for the benefit of the people and environment. This effort comes in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the specifically the Saudi Green Initiative. According to the Memorandum, activities will commence by implementing a national park in Thadiq, Riyadh region, with the participation of SABB's employees, as part of planting 10,000 trees.

    Mr. Tony Cripps, Managing Director of SABB added: “I would like to take this opportunity to commend the Kingdom's pioneering role towards addressing environmental issues such as climate change. We at SABB, under our new 2025 Strategy, are also working towards developing ESG initiatives that speak towards Vision 2030 environmental objectives."

    On the other side, Dr. Maha Al-Dubaihi says, "The synergies between the private sector and the non-profit sector to achieve the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative is of paramount importance and crystalizes the Kingdom's endeavors to address the phenomenon of climate change". She further applauded SABB's contributions to increase the green area in the Kingdom and support various quality environmental initiatives.
