Member of SAB’s Board and Chair of the Bank’s Board of Directors as of June 2019. Ms Olayan holds a BSc from Cornell University, an MBA from Indiana University and an honorary PhD in Law from Trinity College.

In 2004, Ms. Olayan became the first woman to join the board of a Saudi publicly listed company when she was elected to the board of Alawwal Bank and served as its Deputy Chairman. With wide-ranging experience in investments and operating companies, Ms. Olayan served as CEO of Olayan Financing Company for over 35 years, and presently chairs its ExCom, in addition to chairing the board of Olayan Saudi Holding Company.

She has been a member of the Board of Schlumberger since 2011 and a Board member of Ma’aden since 2016. Ms Olayan sits on the international advisory boards of Akbank, Allianz SE, McKinsey & Co and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, she is also a trustee of KAUST, MIT and the Asia Business Council.

Member of SAB Board of Directors since April 2014. Presently the Vice Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors. He holds Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters degree in Financial Economics. He has more than 15 years’ experience in investment, banking services, risk monitoring and Governance at a number of financial and regulatory institutions. He presently holds the position of CEO of Hassanah Investment Company.

Member of SAB Board of Directors since 2009. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh and a Masters of Science in Structural Engineering & Management from the University of South California, USA. In addition to his previous experience in the business and investment sectors, he is a board member of many leading Saudi Companies. Presently he holds several positions including Saudi Orix Leasing Company.

Member of SAB Board of Directors since January 2023. Mr. Almaraj holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a major in Finance and Accounting from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. Mr. Almaraj is the CEO of Ila Bank. In addition to his committees’ membership in King Fahd Causeway Authority, Bahrain Car Parks Company "Amakin" and Board member of Bank ABC Jordan in Jordan.

He previously occupied the positions of COO of Ila Bank, the Vice President for Group Strategy in Arab Banking Corporation, Investment Team Senior Analyst in The Family Office (TFO) and an Investment Banking Associate in Perella Weinberg Partners (New York).

Member of SAB Board of Directors since June 2019, Mr. Al-Aulaqi has an MBA in Finance from the University of Stirling, UK. He has 32 years of investment management, and treasury experience across multiple geographies. His previous roles include including Chief Executive Officer of NCB Capita, President of Safanad and board member of Alawwal Bank. He is the President of Lakemore and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. He sits on Lakemore’s Investment Committee and is responsible for setting the firm’s business and investment strategy.

Mr. Gulliver is a member of the SAB Board of Directors since January 2020. He holds a Master's degree from Oxford University and has a successful background as a businessperson, having led several companies. Additionally, he currently serves on the board of Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd and previously served as a member of the Hong Kong Airport Authority, where he completed four years of service before retiring on May 31, 2023.

He previously occupied the position of Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HSBC Holding plc, and he assumed many executive roles at HSBC group since 1980 to 2018.

Member of SAB Board of Directors since July 2019. Mr Powell has over 40 years’ experience in the Banking sector with a specialism in risk management. He was an Executive with the Royal Bank of Scotland PLC for more than 15 years with his final position before retirement being the Chief Risk Officer for the Capital Resolution Division. He was a Board and Executive Committee Member of Alawwal Bank since June 2017 and holds a ACIB qualification from the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Member of SAB Board of Directors since April 2016, representing the foreign partner HSBC Holdings BV. Mr Samir Assaf holds a BSc degree in Finance from L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris and an MBA in Economics from La Sorbonne University, Paris, France.

Mr Assaf is currently a Senior Advisor at HSBC Group, as well as Chairman of the Boards, HSBC Middle East and HSBC Middle East Holdings. He is also a Senior Advisor at General Atlantic (Global). Mr Assaf has over 30 years’ experience in the banking and financial markets field, holding several leading roles, including Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Global Banking and Markets at HSBC Group.

Member of SAB Board of Directors with effect from January 2018; representing the foreign partner HSBC Holdings plc. He is a qualified chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds an honors degree in Economics and Accountancy from the University of Kent, UK. In addition, Stephen has accumulated wide experience in banking during his 27-year career with HSBC. He is currently the Group Chief of Staff, HSBC Holdings plc.

Board Member and Managing Director of SAB, Tony has worked in banking for more than 30 years, with management roles in institutional banking, treasury, trading and sales businesses, transaction banking, information technology and operations. He was also appointed as HSBC Group General Manager in 2016, before joining SAB in May 2021.

Member of SAB Board of Directors since November 2021. Mr. AlGwaiz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Portland, USA. Mr. AlGwaiz was the Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) from 2013 until January 2021. In addition to his previous experience in banking operations, finance, credit, trading and enterprise management, Mr. AlGwaiz presently sits on the board of several leading companies, including Etihad Etisalat Co., Saudi Arabian Mining Co., and Saudi Industrial Investments Co.
